Services
Immigrant Rights Action is recognized by the US Department of Justice and focuses on providing access to immigration legal services for those in Bucks County and surrounding areas. However, as a trusted resource, we aim to provide more than legal access and strive to create a welcoming environment in which immigrants can ask for referrals to broader assistance, in areas such as health care, education, and access to community resources.
Our Core Programs
Monthly Legal Clinics
Pro bono legal immigration consultations from immigration attorneys and in collaboration with HIAS PA. This program aims to break down barriers to legal access. It removes the difficulties of financing and accessing legal consultations and ensures understanding of this complex topic.
Legal Defense Fund
Provides a grant towards a legal immigration process for immigrants looking to retain legal representation. This grant makes a direct impact in kickstarting the immigration process for many that have an identified path of action but do not have the financial resources for the initial legal retainer fee.
Immigration 101
Trainings are offered for schools, workplaces, faith-based organizations, civic groups, community groups, etc. in order to raise cultural awareness and provide a greater understanding of the US immigration system and process. This also creates professional development opportunities for service providers and educators.
Know Your Rights
trainings are offered for schools, workplaces, faith-based organizations, civic groups, community groups, etc. in order to inform and educate the community on the human rights of all, including our most vulnerable neighbors.
Additional Programming:
Access to Education:
Immigrant Rights Action assists with orienting families through navigating the school enrollment process. We work with registrar offices across various school districts and the Bucks County Intermediate Unit to ensure families are gathering proper documentation and completing requirements so that every child accesses their right to an education.
Access to Health Care/Wellness:
Immigrant Rights Action provides assistance with scheduling immunizations through Bucks County Department of Health, enrollment in the Ann Silverman Community Health Clinic, and referrals to other healthcare and/or service providers.
Mental Health referrals are made to appropriate collaborating organizations which include: NOVA, A Woman’s Place, Ann Silverman Community Health Clinic, The Welcome Project PA, and others.
Access to available community resources and referrals:
- For client inquiries, Immigrant Rights Action relies on existing informational centers such as 211, findhelp.org, the Bucks County HUB and others to determine which resources are available to meet client needs.
- For inquiries on English as a Second Language classes we refer to Vita Education Services, Welcoming the Stranger and others.
- For inquiries on how to obtain an ITIN (Individual Tax Identification Number) we refer to Ceiba.
All immigrants in Bucks County, regardless of immigration status or country of origin, are welcome to contact us.
