History
Immigrant Rights Action came into being as a neighborhood collective that immediately responded to a call to action in March 2017 in response to an ICE raid in Doylestown that apprehended four young restaurant workers.
We crowdsourced funding to secure legal representation for them and thereby created a grassroots group focused on ensuring legal access to Bucks County’s immigrant community.
We became a volunteer-led nonprofit 501(c)3 in 2019. In 2022, we onboarded our first paid Executive Director and are currently immigrant-led. We are recognized by the U.S. Department of Justice as the only non-profit that provides access to legal immigration services in Bucks County.
